In with the New

I have been complaining for months about my dinky kitchen table so it was time I did something about it. I've had my old table all throughout college and probably only actually used it twice. Now that I'm a working girl I have been transitioning into buying grown up appliances and furniture. This was my very first brand-new furniture purchase so I was ecstatic. Most of my belonging are from garage sales, or purchased from a friend of a friend of a friend. So don't mind if I brag, but my new table looks BOMB in my pad. It brings a whole new life to mi casa and I couldn't be happier with my Black Friday purchase!

Do you love it as much as I do?

Wrinkles

Even though I'm only 25 years old, I sometimes feel twice that. It could be my early bed time or my obsession with sunscreen but I swear I could be a year or two ahead in the aging process. This also became quite apparent when a student in my 6th hour class decide to mention the appearance of early wrinkles on my face!?! I mean, what? I was having the best Friday and bam reality check. Thats one of the things you can count on with children, brutal honesty. Im wishing on my lucky stars that I will age like my mother.  if thats the case I'm in good shape because she is a total smoke show. Is it too early for Botox? Only kidding.

 Happy Friday!
Stay tuned for pics of my new dinning room table! Ahhh the excitement!

Cajun shrimp

Is it just me, or does a fresh coat of nail polish really make you feel like a whole new person? I slabbed on a layer of my favorite opi shade and boom!  I was ready to take on the world.  I strongly believe my bright tootsies had a major affect on my awesome mood today. My Wednesday flew by and I can't complain about that. Now that my fingers and toes are ready for the rest of the week, I better join them.
Tootles:)

Turkey Break
Sorry I've been MIA on this thing. I have been busy with school and stuffing my face with lefse. I promise I will try harder to keep this thing updated. although, I'm 99.9% sure the only people who read this are my parents, my sister Courtney, and my friend Tori.

So other than gaining 10lbs and avoiding the Internet, i had a fabulous Thanksgiving. I  was able to spend time with my family and friend and lots of yummy food. The highlight of my vacay was being able to spend more than two consecutive days with Matt. Let me tell you, that is an absolute blessing. When Matt is around I am obnoxiously happy... My cheeks get sore from smiling so much.

So here's to being outrageously happy

P.S. 19 days until Christmas vacations...Yes, I'm counting.

Ms. Mydland

I’m still getting used to being addressed as Ms. Mydland or Ms. M as  my younger students say...every time I hear those words a tiny piece of me lights up.  It took me countless hours of lesson plans and too many licensing exams to count before I could be addressed in such a way. So it’s a good feeling when that time comes.  I may not be teaching the subject I thought I would but that is fine by me. I’ve learned more from my ESL students the last year than I did in any college practicum.

One thing they don’t teach you in school is the impact you are going to have. Tonight, while at school conferences, I was embraced by a 7 year old running full speed towards me with open arms yelling "Ms. M, Ms. M I want you to meet my mommy" Now I tell you what, seeing someone that excited to see you is something that can make even the grouchiest of people crack a smile. So tonight brought me endless amounts of heartfelt introductions and I couldn’t be more appreciative.

I know few professions that can bring as many opportunities for smiles, laughs, imaginations, hugs, and stickers like teaching does. Yeah sometimes I have difficult days but each day brings at least a couple grins and giggles. I know you can't get those feelings from sitting behind a desk, starring at a computer screen. So tonight I just want to say how thankful I am for having a job I truly love.

How lucky am I?

Puppy love
The weekend is officially over and I can't say I’m that upset about it. Yesterday, while getting my oil changed, I was informed I needed to buy four new tires! Ugh! Besides buying a TV these tires have been the biggest purchase I’ve made thus far in my life.

So, being I just spent a wad of cash on new tires for my vehicle and am having school conferences this week, I will be staying with my family in Flandreau. Cutting down on my driving is not only better for my budget but it will allow me an extra 20 min to sleep in!

My Flandreau family lives on a cattle farm where they have a few farm dogs. I have recently fallen in love with their yellow lab. She is so sweet and always greets me with a very welcoming wag of her tail. This makes my little animal loving heart melt. She makes staying a couple extra days a way from home a lot easier!
How can you not love her?
