Late Start

 

Due to the winter weather and icy roads we had a late start today at school! Wohoo! I got to sleep in, start a load of laundry, schedule a dentist appointment,  and style my hair. Talk about productive! It's amazing what an extra two hours in the morning will do!

 

it was -3 this morning when I headed out the door, so I thought boots and layers were a necessity. I had so many layers before I made my escape that I was sweating before I reached my car. Better safe than sorry, I guess. Right?!

 

 

Plus one

My roommate Tara, started a new job this week at Envive Chiropractic. She was invited to their work Christmas party at the Icon event center on Friday night.  Since she has only been with the company for a little under a week she didn't want to go to the party solo. So I was lucky enough to  accompany her to the semi-formal event. It was a blast! They had live music and delicious appetizers. We were also able to snap a couple goofy pictures before we went to watch a bad play at Wiley's. We had so much fun dancing and visiting with friends!

 

Birthdays

It was my mothers birthday this Sunday, and this is what I wore to celebrate( I was not having the best hair day as you can see).We went to see killing them softly...which I would not recommend at all. It was awful! I thought about leaving mid-way through but i stuck it out like a champ because I knew i'd be rewarded with some cake and Ice cream  afterwards.

I could go on and on about how amazing my mother is. I swear she is the sweetest woman on the planet and my best friend. She has such a big heart and I'm lucky to have been raised by such a lovely woman.

Monday, We meet again!

My week is off to a good start. I had a week of lunches and snacks packed and loaded in my car before 9pm last night. That is a rarity my friends. I usually look like a crazy bag lady when 6:40 am rolls around. I try and carry as many things as my tiny little wrist can handle as I head down to my vehicle.  I mean who really wants to make two trips to the car. I sure know I don’t.  

In light of my “preparedness” I thought wearing a fun A-line skirt would be suiting. After all, the meteorologist told me it was going to be 50 today.

Food

With the excitement of my new table, my roommate and I decided to whip up a quick meal so we could have a "sit down dinner" to celebrate the new member of our family. We made chicken spaghetti and a boat load of sugar cookies. It was all so tasty that I over indulged and spent the majority of my night with a regretfully full belly.

I had so many leftovers I will be enjoying pasta for the next couple of days! Yippie!

Chicken Spaghetti Recipe:

Angle hair pasta

2-3 grilled chicken breast

1 can of cream of mushroom soup

1 can of cream of chicken soup

8 oz of sour cream

1 can of rotel tomatoes

preheat oven to 350 and Boil pasta as directed and drain.  Grill chicken. combine all other ingredient in a baking dish. cover with foil and bake for 30 min and Enjoy! So simple.

If I was to make this dish again I'd add something to give it a little more flavor.

In with the New

I have been complaining for months about my dinky kitchen table so it was time I did something about it. I've had my old table all throughout college and probably only actually used it twice. Now that I'm a working girl I have been transitioning into buying grown up appliances and furniture. This was my very first brand-new furniture purchase so I was ecstatic. Most of my belonging are from garage sales, or purchased from a friend of a friend of a friend. So don't mind if I brag, but my new table looks BOMB in my pad. It brings a whole new life to mi casa and I couldn't be happier with my Black Friday purchase!
